Prevents Chip Pan Fires

       AntiFlame Active Alarm System

On the 28th July 2008 this happend in Weston-Super-Mare (UK)

A huge fire has destroyed the historic Grand Pier at Weston-super-Mare.
Dozens of firefighters fought to tackle the blaze which took hold of the partly wooden pier in the North Somerset seaside resort at about 0700 BST.
No-one was injured in the fire, which firefighters said started in an area containing deep fat fryers. Black smoke was visible more than 10 miles away.
The owners, who have recently bought and refurbished the pier, were said to be "absolutely devastated".
The flames have obliterated the pier's many serving hatches, bars and games booths leaving its 100 employees facing an uncertain future.

What if the AntiFlame Active Alarm was fitted?
If the Weston-Super-Mare pier had been fitted with the AntiFlame Active Alarm system, then the full extent of the fire, the pier’s total destruction and the following devastation could have been dramatically reduced. Why? Because the smoke from the chip fryer would have activated the AntiFlame Active Alarm detector and the gas supply to the whole of the pier would have been cut off. Without gas, the chip fryer burners would have been extinguished removing the source of heat from the boiling oil before it could reach its explosive flash point. The chip fryer WOULD have been extinguished, leaving only minor internal smoke damage. Fires like these cost insurers £100m’s each year. This one had its own personal cost and drained local fire fighting resources. However, and more importantly, Weston-Super-Mare lost an historic and iconic landmark forever.
